LITTLE OWL IN BROCKWELL PARK

Susy Hogarth has today seen and photographed what has been identified by Dr Iain Boulton of Lambeth Parks as a Little Owl. Its commonly seen during the day. Its fairly common throughout Europe excepct Scotland and Ireland.
However its habitat is open farmland and stoney wastleland.
The creation of the heathland in the park plus the rat population by the ponds have probably drawn it as they lkike small rodents .It nests in holes in trees, in rocks and buildings.
